Group Equipment Requirements
Group | Description | Sessions/ Week |
National Performance | The National Performace group is for swimmers aiming to excel at the National level. Swimmers in this group are self motivated, driven and demonsrate an unparalled committment to their swimming. Swimmers in this group are expected to train year round and attend all training sessions and competitions barring illness or injury. (Ages 14+) | 7-9 (18+ Hours) |
National Development | The National Development group is for swimmers aiming to excel at the provincial level and qualify for the National level. Athletes in this group take ownership over their training and are self motivated, driven, and commited to pursuing their goals. Swimmers will train September through July and attend meets at provincial and national levels. (Ages 12+) | 7-8 (16 Hours) |
Provincial Senior | The Provincial Senior group is for swimmers aiming to excel at the Provincial level. Swimmers in this group are expected to train September through July, attend 90%+ of practices and both local as well as travel meets. (Ages 14+) | 6 (11.5 Hours) |
Provincial Junior | The Provincial Junior group is for swimmers aiming to excel at the Provincial level. Swimmers in this group are expected to train September through July, attend 90%+ of practices and both local as well as travel meets. (Ages 11+) | 7 (13.5 Hours) |
Regional Group | The Regional group is for swimmers who are developing fundamental skills for long term success in competitive swimming. These swimmers will be competing at local, and travel meets within the Vancouver Island region. Swimmers will train from mid September through June. (Ages 10-14) | 6 (9.5 Hours) |
Intro Comp SCP & JDF | The Intro Competitive 2/JDF groups are for swimmers who are new to competitive swimming. Swimmers in these groups will learn basic technique in all 4 strokes, and foundational skills for long term success in competitive swimming through a fun, engaging learning environment. Swimmers in this group will compete at meets on Vancouver Island area and will train from mid September through June. (Ages 7-10) | 4 (5.5 Hours) |
